Cabrini Green Legal Aid Clinic

This training is to prepare volunteer attorneys to represent persons charged with misdemeanors or low-level felonies and are being processed out of the Cook County Criminal Court. These cases typically involve:

  • Client and witness interviews
  • Investigating the case
  • Researching and arguing substantive motions
  • Trial and sentencing and 
  • Negotiating with the State's Attorney's Office 
  • minimal documentation and little discovery (50 to 200 hours to complete)
