Description

Founded in 1981, the Chicago Legal Clinic, Inc., is a private, not-for-profit legal services organization. The Clinic provides low-cost legal services (sliding fee scale) to disadvantaged individuals in the Chicago area from its four neighborhood offices (South Chicago, Austin, Downtown and Pilsen) and its several programs.  Representation is provided in many areas of law including: family law (divorce, adoption, visitation, paternity, and assistance to victims of domestic violence), guardianship of disabled adults, social security disability claims, real estate closings, debt counseling, immigration, expungement of criminal records, and environmental law. 

There are no income eligibility restrictions; fees are charged on a sliding scale based on household income.

The Clinic provides free legal seminars on topics of community interest in churches, schools and civic organizations.
