Description

The Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago (LAF), a not-for-profit corporation, is the principal provider in Chicago and suburban Cook County of free civil legal services to individuals and families unable to afford legal counsel.  LAF seeks to ensure that every low-income individual and family in Chicago and Cook County receives equal justice under the law.  LAF currently has approximately 40 attorneys and 8 paralegals providing legal assistance in the general intake offices.  In addition there are 25 attorneys and 22 paralegals working in the special projects.  The Board of Directors at LAF includes client representatives and lawyers who are selected primarily by the Chicago Bar Association.
